Tholen – The Spanish strawberry season started some time ago already. Due to rather low temperatures, the supply is still limited. The importer Aqui Fruit & Greens receives between 1/2 and 1 trucks of Spanish strawberries daily. "This is enough to meet the current demand", according to the importer. He expects the supply to increase in the coming weeks. Aqui Fruit & Greens sells the varieties Candonga, Camarossa, and Festival. "The Festival strawberries will be available for another 2 weeks." The prices are good; about 3 to 3,5 Euros per kilo.
The strawberries are packed in 16 x 250 grams and 10 x 500 grams. "We are seeing a decreasing demand for flowpacked strawberries."
